Calibrating the wheel angle sensor

Note: The wheel angle sensor must be calibrated every 6-12 months.

WARNING: Before selecting Next, check that there is sufficient space for the vehicle to complete the entire manoeuvre. Calibration will take a maximum of 60 seconds for each full lock position.

WARNING: On certain vehicle models, the wheels may be automatically steered into the required position.

  1. Select: / Autosteer options Menu / Calibrate auto-steering .

The Autosteer calibration screen is displayed.

  1. Select WHEEL ANGLE SENSOR. If the component is indicated as already calibrated, perform the procedure anyway if the receiver has not been calibrated on this vehicle.

Note: The number of screens and contents of screens may vary depending on the vehicle and on the type of autosteer controller installed.

If an error displays, read the message and take the recommended action before proceeding.

  1. Drive the vehicle forwards to start the procedure. The wheel angle sensor calibration process must be completed at 2 km/h (1.2 mph).
  2. Turn the steering wheel to full lock towards the left and select Next .
  3. Turn the steering wheel to full lock towards the right and select Next .

  4. Ensure that the vehicle is still moving at 2 km/h (1.2 mph). Turn the steering wheel as close as possible into the straight ahead position.

Note: For the system to function correctly, it is extremely important to identify the straight ahead position and drive in a straight line before selecting Next.

WARNING: Before continuing, check that there is sufficient space for the vehicle to move forward with the wheels in the straight-ahead position.

  1. Select Next.
  2. The system will start to save the calibration data. Wait for the on-screen message indicating that the calibration procedure has been completed correctly, then confirm .

Note: With some steering controllers, the console may also include a hydraulic system calibration function. If this message is displayed, select the hydraulic system and follow the on-screen instructions.
